My Wishes for the Rest of Season Three of The Flash

Barry, Iris, Kara, Killer Frost, Savitar - The Flash

Spoiler alert – this article makes mention of events from the most recent episode of The Flash. Tread lightly if you have not yet seen the episode from April 25, 2017.

After a fairly short hiatus, The Flash was back with a new episode on Tuesday, April 25. And, you know what that means, right? Yes, my friends, there are only four new episodes remaining for the third season of The Flash! With that sobering fact in mind, I have compiled a list of what I would like to see accomplished during those episodes, and a bonus wish for next season!

Barry and Iris

Barry and Iris - The Flash

For the love of all things good and pure, please let Barry and Iris stay together. I have previously written about their boomerang love affair and how annoying I find it in My The Flash Epiphany – The Ship has Sailed! Yes, I do realize that this is The CW, and this type of relationship drama seems pretty standard fare – do the writers have a contractual obligation that main characters must break up and get back together a minimum number of times each season? But, it really is not necessary for most instances of plot advancement. So, let’s finish the season with these two lovebirds together, pretty please?

Of course, the natural consequence of that wish means Iris survives Savitar’s attack. I am onboard with that, and hope that the producers and writers do not throw us a very, very dark curve to end the season. This season has already been darker than previous ones, and while that is ok in the short term, I really do not want to see The Flash go down the same road as Arrow.

Finish off Savitar and Speedster Big Bads

Savitar - The Flash

I think most fans will agree that Savitar has run (pun intended!) his course, and it is time to retire this speedster. In fact, I know others share my opinion that it is time to come up with a big bad who is not a speedster. First season we had Reverse Flash. Then in second season we had Zoom, and now for the third season Savitar has been our main villain. I get it – Barry fighting another speedster is exciting, but The Flash has an awful lot of speedsters – the three villains I mentioned, and then on the good side, Jesse Quick and Kid Flash. Six speedsters are an awful lot, and I would like to see the good guys use their speed against some new and different type of foe!

I have seen three reasonable theories as to the identity of Savitar, which I will not go into since I know some people are spoiler sensitive. But, despite the dragging out of the big reveal yet again in Tuesday’s episode, I am hopeful Savitar will be properly disposed of by the end of the season!

Killer Frost

Killer Frost - The Flash

Don’t make it too easy to stop or turn Killer Frost! All season long, there has been a lot of agonizing over whether or not Killer Frost would emerge and control Caitlin, and now that it seems to finally have happened, and Killer Frost has joined team Savitar, well, give us some time to digest this new state of affairs and don’t use a deus ex machina solution to tie it up in the remaining few episodes. This is one thread I would like to see continue into the fourth season!

Also consider that we have not had a female big bad so far on The Flash, so here is an opportunity to achieve that landmark.

And looking toward the future…

Musical Again!

Barry and Kara - The Flash

While I know not everyone will agree, I had fun watching the musical episode and crossover with Supergirl. It was a nice change of pace, and a fun way to take the characters out of their normal routine and element. Since seasons run about 24 episodes, it seems that having one out of that number be a musical is not unreasonable! And, of course, this would require bringing back the Music Meister – which I think would be wonderful. His character so thoroughly surprised me by not being evil – a stroke of genius on the part of the writers in my opinion!

What wishes do you have for the remaining episodes of the season? Do you want things tied up neatly in a bow, or carried over to season four? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below so we can discuss them! I love talking about The Flash with you!
