The Fosters “Rehearsal” Review (Season 3, Episode 18)

Rehearsal

As is the case in every episode of The Fosters, there was a lot going on in the lives of the Adams-Foster family in last night’s episode.

Here is what is happening with each of them:

• For Callie, she is not only trying to help her Girls United friend Daphne with the custody hearing of her little girl Tasha but also interviewing Justina as part of her senior project where she learns that Justina isn’t all she thought (she’s a liar with altruistic intensions);
• Lena is trying to help Stef deal with her (for lack of a better term) new circumstances and enlists the assistance of Anchor Beach teacher Karen and a women from the support group Karen joined after her battle with breast cancer;
• In an effort of let go of her fear, Stef decides to move forward with getting breast implants AND cutting her hair short; her reasoning is that she shouldn’t worry about what anyone else thinks of her, she only needs to think about what makes her feel good;
• In a typical high school storyline (that is, quite frankly, getting quite boring, don’t you think?), Mariana’s new boyfriend Nick learns that she cheated on former boyfriend Mat thanks to a few well-placed words from Mat’s new girlfriend Zoey;
• Stef discovers that Brandon is dating Cortney – his older co-worker from the bar/restaurant where he is working as their “piano man” – and she and Lena warn him to be careful (especially given what happened between Ana and Gabe 16 years earlier);
• Jesus and Gabe have a father-son moment (if you want to call it that), even though it was rather awkward; and
• Gabe received letters of support from Ana, her parents and the twins (Mariana and Jesus) to get him off the sex offenders registry; but that might be in jeopardy when he is inadvertently found at the warehouse (where the Romeo and Juliet rock opera will be held) with Mariana.

Given all that happened in last night’s episode, what do you think Callie will do with the “truths” that she learned about Justina? And if she does do anything about those deceptions, how will that affect her Fost and Found app not to mention the job Justina got for Daphne.

What are your thoughts on Stef’s transition? Do you like her new hairstyle and do you like the progress she is making after her surgery? Do you think this new transition will last?

Is anyone else sick of the high school romance stories? I get it that with teenagers as major players in any show there is going to be the typical high school stories, but just once I’d love to see something, well, different? What say you?

What do you think will happen to Gabe after being caught at the warehouse with Mariana? Will Stef be able to pull any strings because of her being a cop in order to help Gabe out of this unfortunately situation? Additionally, do you think the letters of support will be accepted by the courts, allowing Gabe to finally get off the offenders registry?

Please share your thoughts about last night’s episode below.

The much anticipated Romeo and Juliet rock opera will be the main feature of the next new episode of the third season of ‘The Fosters,’ airing on Freeform on Monday, March 21 at 8/7c.
