‘Revenge’ (Season 4): The Truth Is Out There

On the last new episode of Revenge, Emily Thorne finally came clean to the public – via a somewhat hijacked press conference – that she is the really Amanda Clarke; and granted while there was already a large circle of people who already knew her hidden truth, now the country knows what she has kept secret for so very long.

The aftermath of that reveal played out in last night’s episode with Ben being pissed at Emily/Amanda for making the reveal, providing him with some major headaches at work; Louise pissed at Nolan for not telling her the truth and Victoria getting her hands on that damn thumb drive that Louise’s brother stole from Nolan’s laptop.

Throughout the episode there were plenty of flashbacks, focusing on each of the main characters, reminding viewers of just what these characters have gone through – not to mention how GOOD the show was in the beginning – and how far they have come.

That being said, though, Victoria wasn’t going to go down without a fight; but in true Emily Thorne-style, Amanda Clarke got the better of the situation by offering herself up to that big time reporter with an exclusive. That exclusive revealed secrets to the general public that viewers of the show have known about for four seasons now. And, it also put a lot of the blame on Victoria herself, which will not go down well with the Wicked Witch of the Hamptons. Payback will assuredly be a bitch.

In the meantime, let’s go over some of the more memorable lines from episode, an episode which seemed to finally get the show back on track:

“Emily Thorne no longer exists.” – Amanda

“Now that Emily is gone, I’m obsolete.” – Nolan

“Things are changing and soon it’ll be out of control.” – Jack

“Victoria, if you’re watching, it’s in your hands to end this.” – Amanda

“You two belong together and deep down she knows it.” – Nolan

“Amanda Clarke has dug a grave for me tonight.” – Victoria

“You can’t resurrect a woman dead to the world.” – Victoria

“I’ve spent my whole thing, chasing that happiness.” – Amanda

“After what I did tonight, it’s going to change everything.” – Amanda

“For the first time, I have no idea what’s coming next.” – Amanda

And, let’s take a moment to ponder the following scenes:

The tag team of Amanda and David going after Kingsley (guest star Yancey Arias), the man who helped put David in prison. I’d say that their warning to the man will keep his mouth shut for good, right?

Someone on a beach in an obvious island getaway has their own red sharpie, which was used to circle Amanda’s picture in the paper. What is up with that?!

There are only four episodes left in the season for a show that has yet to be renewed for a fifth season. I have to wonder if the powers that be behind the show will simply give the series a good ending and call it quits or leave just enough wiggle room should the show somehow eek out an 11th hour renewal next month.
