Arrow “The Return” Season 3 Episode 14

Arrow Season 3 Episode 14 “The Return” airs Wednesday February 18th at 8pm on the CW television network. In tonight’s episode, Malcolm (John Barrowman) puts Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) in a dangerous situation that lands them on Lian Yu with Oliver’s former enemy, Deathstroke (guest star Manu Bennett). A flashback reveals when Oliver and Maseo (guest star Karl Yune) returned to Starling City to retrieve the Omega bio weapon, and despite being under strict orders from Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) not to reveal himself to anyone, Oliver looks in on his family, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (guest star Colin Donnell).

Show Summary: After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, welcomed by his devoted mother Moira (Susanna Thompson), beloved sister Thea (Willa Holland) and former flame Laurel Lance.

With the aid of his trusted chauffeur/bodyguard John Diggle (David Ramsey), the computer-hacking skills of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and the occasional, reluctant assistance of former police detective, now police captain, Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Oliver has been waging a one-man war on crime.

After suffering a massive defeat at the end of Season One, Oliver started Season Two determined to fight his battles without causing bloodshed. But this new credo was challenged when his sworn enemy, Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), returned to Starling City bent on destroying Oliver’s life. Though Slade succeeded in hurting Oliver, killing his mother and driving his sister Thea to her biological father, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Oliver ultimately defeated Slade and saved Starling City from Slade’s brutal army.

In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.
