White Collar Season 6 Review “All’s Fair” – The Fall Guy

White Collar Season 6 Episode 4 All's Fair (6)

In this episode of White Collar, called “All’s Fair,” a secret from Mozzie’s past shows up and teaches him that it’s not always enough to love someone.

Not a lot happened on the Pink Panthers story in this episode, except for Peter making a fool of himself with his superiors by ordering an entire division of the FBI to capture a group of people who never showed up. That, plus, Neal walked into his home to find the leader of the Panthers sitting at his dining room table and announcing that they had a mole in their midst. Okay, so maybe a lot did happen – they just managed to squeeze it into barely three scenes.

The biggest story in this episode was Mozzie and his ex-wife, Eva. With only a few episodes left of the series, I loved that they took time out from the main storyline to give us another fine Mozzie episode. When he told Neal that he was married, I hoped for one second that it was based on true love. As it turned out, Mozzie went into the marriage as a con and did it during a time when was missing his best friend as Neal was in jail.

It was kind of hilarious to find out that Eva had been trying to con Mozzie at the same time he had been trying to con her. Then they combined their efforts into one con and she stole his half of the loot and ran off. If that’s not a match made in heaven, I don’t know what is. That’s when it became clear that Mozzie really did have feelings for Eva. It seemed the more she conned him, the more he liked her for it. It was a relationship doomed to never work out, but that didn’t stop him from wanting her – which was both heartbreaking and sweet.

In the end, Mozzie learned that Eva was indeed setting him up as the fall guy for her latest con. I loved that Peter and Neal figured it out first and were able to warn him. Mozzie didn’t believe them, but he also wasn’t stupid enough to fall for it once he saw it happening. He even let Eva go, which makes me wonder if, when the show is over and we’re no longer peeking into the lives of these characters, Mozzie might have the chance of a future with her someday.

My favorite bits:

Peter pointing out that he and Neal weren’t separated enough for him to get anxious about it. Ha!

Peter accusing Neal of having separation anxiety from the Pink Panthers.

Mozzie thinking that the Panthers were wooing him.

Neal and I wearing matching expressions when Mozzie announced he had a wife.

Finding out that Mozzie’s fake wife had stolen his half of their score and taking off. Yep, that sounds about right.

Mozzie and Eva stealing something from each other during their hello kiss.

Mozzie creating chaos in Peter and Elle’s kitchen to cope with the news about Eva.

The double-talk between Neal and Mozzie in Conroy’s office.

Mozzie: “I require wisdom from the nectar of the gods.”

Mozzie claiming his “wound” needed a salve.

Neal: “Mozzie claims he was beaten.”
Peter: “Mozzie also claims the government uses fluoride to control my mind.”

Peter: “If he shushes me one more time in my car.” – I really wanted to know how he was going to finish that sentence.

Cracking up at Mozzie leaving the car, even as both Peter and Neal told him not to.

Peter thinking Mozzie might be right? Wait. Did the world just end?

Peter and Neal running Mozzie through exactly how Evan and Conroy were going to set him up.

Peter and Neal catching Conroy in the act. Awesome.

Mozzie realizing, without Neal and Peter, he would have walked right into Eva’s trap.

Mozzie smacking Eva on the booty. Too cute.
