‘Grimm’ (Season 4): The Trouble with Trubel

Grimm Season 3 Episode 20 My Fair Wesen (4)

Newcomer Jacqueline Toboni joined the NBC fairytale drama Grimm for the last four episodes of the show’s third season last year, appearing as Theresa “Trubel” Rubel, a 20-year old tough girl who grew up in the foster care system. She is also a Grimm, but until she met Detective Nick Burkhardt (series lead David Giuntoli) in Portland, she didn’t know what she was: in fact she, along with everyone else, thought she was crazy.

It didn’t take Trubel long to accept her fate and begin the learning process thanks to that trailer full of goodies left to Nick by his Aunt Marie (guest star Kate Burton). Trubel was also quickly brought into the fold, meeting Juliette (series regular Bitsie Tulloch) and Hank (series regular Russell Hornsby) as well as Wesens Monroe (series regular Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (series regular Bree Turner).

As viewers know, Nick lost his Grimm ability in the May season finale, making Trubel the only Grimm in Portland; and because of her taking out Wesen Weston Steward (guest star C. Thomas Howell), who just happened to be a rogue FBI agent working with the Verrat, the main FBI agent [who just happens to be Wesen] assigned to investigate Steward’s death, became suspicious of Trubel.

And as seen in Friday’s episode, Agent Chavez (guest star Elizabeth Rodriguez) and a team of masked men kidnapped Trubel, telling her that she is important to a certain group that value her skill as a Grimm. They actually let her go, but Trubel keeps this strange encounter a secret from Nick; and that will assuredly create its own set of trouble for Trubel (and everyone else on the “team”).

What do you think this mystery group wants from Trubel? Are they somehow associated with the Verrat or are they actually out to do good? Share your thoughts below.

The next new episode of the fourth season of ‘Grimm’ will air on NBC on Friday, November 14 at 9/8c.
