On TV Tonight, Monday, 9/22/14: Gotham, The Big Bang Theory and More

TV Schedules Fall 2014 Monday

Our Picks

Gotham – 8pm Fox
The Fall 2014 television season is officially here. This is not a test. Tonight we all start treating the networks like cheese sample platters and sample everything–even that weird thing that smells because it might be majestic on the inside. For me the sampling begins with Gotham, a series that has lots going against it in my book: I am not a fan of Batman or the depressing world he lives in, Pre-Commissioner Gordon is not the most exciting character in the franchise and aesthetically it looks dreary. However, in the positives corner we have Donal Logue, my perpetual TV boyfriend, the chance to see Alfred bonding with an emo baby Bruce and the fact that Bruno Heller created the series.

The Big Bang Theory – 8pm CBS
Sheldon is back and on a new night! Hey, sometimes a girl has stick with the oldies. TBBT is coming off of what was arguably its best season to date, a year full of change and character development. Hopefully, this comfort food comedy can keep up the good work and remain as funny as ever. We get back-to-back episodes tonight, so get ready!

Scorpion – 9pm
Again, I am not 100% sold on Scorpion’s premise. Actually, scratch that, I’m not entirely clear on what that premise is– geniuses solving crime? I don’t know, but CBS has been pushing the team element and I love a good TV team.
