Manhattan (WGN) – What To Expect [Exclusive Interviews]

Manhattan WGN 02

In the 1940s, a brutal war ravaged the world and there were tough choices on the horizon. For a small group of scientists and their families living in an isolated town in New Mexico, the stakes were particularly high. If could create something that could save countless lives, but also cause unimaginable destruction, would you? This is one of the questions that the characters in WGN America’s new show Manhattan grapple with. Starring John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, and Daniel Stern, Manhattan tells the dramatic story of the construction of the first atomic bomb and the struggles of the families living under its shroud of secrecy in Los Alamos.

The Paley Center for Media hosted an evening with Manhattan on July 9th, and the show’s creator Sam Shaw, director Thomas Schlamme and stars Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Daniel Stern, and Rachel Brosnahan were on hand to talk about the experience of recreating this era that changed the world forever.

Manhattan premieres on Sunday, July 27 9/8c on WGN America.
