Walton Goggins Books Return To ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Season 7

Justified Season 5 Episode 4 Over the Mountain (4)

Actor Walton Goggins will be making his way back to FX’s Sons of Anarchy, TVGuide is reporting. After Goggins hinted about a possible return back in October, “I wouldn’t be surprised if you see her again before this show is done. I’ll just say that.” The show’s creator Kurt Sutter has since confirmed the news via his Twitter page. “I am very happy to report that in season 7 of SOA, THERE WILL BE SOME MUTHAF***IN’ VENUS!”

As SOA fans now best, Goggins is well liked on the show for his role as Venus Van Dam, a transgender escort who first appeared in Season 5 of the biker drama. Goggins appearance on the show is likely a victory for the veteran performer. Prior to ever stepping foot on set, Sutter was vocal about the unlikelihood of enlisting Goggins for a guest appearance.

“The only two people who I could never have on the show are Michael Chiklis and Goggins, because of how closely relatable they are to their characters on The Shield. It would be very hard for our audience to accept them as anybody else,” Sutter said. Goggins then responded, “I’ll do it if I can be a transgender. I would like to play a transgender.”

Goggins is best known for his roles as Boyd Crowder on FX’s ‘Justified’ and Detective Shane Vendrell on ‘The Shield’. The seventh and final season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ is slated to kick off this coming fall.
