Actor Brandon Routh Set to Play [SPOILER] on ‘Arrow’

Brandon Routh

According to the folks over at TV Line, former ‘Superman Returns’ star Brandon Routh will be showing up in a recurring role on the hit CW series Arrow, playing a rare live-action incarnation of the DC Comics superhero The Atom.

The Atom, aka Ray Palmer, can alter the size of his body as well as other objects, and is “an unparalleled scientist and inventor who will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver Queen (series lead Stephen Amell) and (rumored love interest) Felicity Smoak (series regular and fan favorite Emily Bett Rickards) as the new owner of Queen Consolidated”. [Obviously taking over the position from doomed CEO, and turncoat, Isabel Rochev (recurring guest star Summer Glau).]

Routh is no stranger to the small screen, having appeared in a recurring role in the popular, but now defunct, series ‘Chuck’ as well as the short-lived comedies ‘Partners’ and ‘Enlisted’. He has also recently appeared in the drama ‘Chosen’ and was in the box office film ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’.

‘Arrow’ will return to The CW for its third season starting on Wednesday, October 8 at 8/7c.
