Royal Pains Season 6 Review “Steaks on a Plane” – Lawson, Hank Lawson

Royal Pains Season 6 Episode 4 Steaks on a Plane (7)

In this episode of Royal Pains, Evan and Paige find themselves almost back at square one, Jeremiah and Divya discuss their separate dating futures and Hank plays international spy in Geneva.

I know this is supposed to be a light, summer show and I like that, but I also like when they push the boundaries a little bit. Hank playing spy in Geneva was fun to watch – and not just because he looked really good in that suit. It was interesting to see him involved in something that was so out of his element. As a concierge doctor, Hank knows exactly what to do with his patients and any problems that crop up. Being asked to act as a spy for Boris and basically being kidnapped along the way? Not so much.

But Hank figured it out when he decided to combine both jobs into one. Not knowing how else to delay being taken away by Berta, he faked a serious illness for her. Talk about brilliant. Heck, even I was falling for it. I thought it was an odd coincidence that he found himself a medical mystery while acting as an international spy, but I was rolling with it. In the end, it was the delay Boris needed to get to Hank so I’m glad he came up with it.

Back in the Hamptons, Evan and Paige put a lot of effort into making Emma happy and instead got themselves tossed out of their latest home. Not that I blame the landlord. If Evan had caught my roof on fire, I’d probably cancel his lease, too. Luckily they found a new place, but it was smaller and they were forced to finally realize that they didn’t actually want Emma living with them after all. Good for them for figuring that out and good for Emma for taking it in stride. I think she’ll be pretty happy rooming with her “second-favorite older brother” anyway.

As for Jeremiah and Divya, it looks like now that Jeremiah has found himself a nice, quiet place to get away from his noisier home, he’s a happier guy. Not only that, but he’s also found someone that he’s interested in. I know a lot of people are still hoping for him and Divya as a couple, but I’m not seeing that happening and frankly I’m okay with that. I think they make better friends anyway. I liked that they were able to give each other dating advice, but I also think things could get awkward once they both start dating. I mean where are they going to bring people – back to their shared home?

They may not have to worry about that too soon, considering the fact that Jeremiah bungled his first attempt to pick up Viviana. I loved that he tried though and I’m sure he’ll get the hang of it.

So far, I’m really enjoying my return to the Hamptons this summer and still looking forward to seeing how everyone’s stories continue to unfold.

My favorite bits:

Jeremiah informing Emma that a handful of teenagers had been “strategically invited” for her.

Evan and Paige wearing those ridiculous costumes. I agreed with Divya and Jeremiah. I had no idea what was up either.

Agreeing with Emma, too. Those firemen were indeed hot.

“We’re not getting our security deposit back, are we?”

Hank finding Boris throwing money off his balcony. Uh oh. That can’t be good.

Boris is faking dementia? That is kinda awesome.

“Can I count on you, Hank?”
“Don’t you always?”

“You sound angry.”
“Well, that arrow didn’t shoot itself.”

“Hey doc can you spot me?”
“Yeah, I can see you perfectly.”

Noticing that Jeremiah was listening closely to the firemen discussing pick-up lines. Oh dear, I feel an awkward pick-up line from Jeremiah coming before this episode is over.

Hank obediently sitting down before he realized Berta was talking to her dog.

Hank in that suit. That is all. Wowza.

Jeremiah’s failed attempt to work out.

Wondering where the heck I could get one of these amazing guest houses that seem to be all over the Hamptons.

Poor Hank realizing that he was basically being kidnapped to the Caribbean.

Hank reassuring Berta’s bodyguards that he was not, in fact, trying to seduce her.

Evan and Paige trying to argue in whispers.

“You shouldn’t use a baby as an excuse.”
“You’re right, I know. But she’s such an adorable one.”

Evan incorrectly assuming that Emma wanted more money. Awkward.

Boris coming to Hank’s rescue.

Finding out that Hank faked Berta’s embolism. Nicely done, Hank!

Yep. Called it. Jeremiah’s attempt at a pick-up line was awful. Aw, but I hope he tries again.

“You forced me out of my comfort zone and that’s been good for me.”
