BBC Reveals ‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Set To Kick Off With A Special

Sherlock fans, rejoice, for the first time ever, we will be treated to four new episodes instead of three. That’s right, season four will kick off with a special before proceeding with the typical trio of episodes format. The special is set to begin filming in January 2015, with the new season to follow later next year.

“Series Four! At last! It’s always special to return to Sherlock but this time it’s even more special as we’re doing… a Special!” said Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss in a statement. “Not only THAT, we’ll then be shooting three more episodes which will take Sherlock and John Watson into deeper and darker water than ever before. The whole Sherlock team are terrifically excited to return for four new adventures. The Game is on – again!”

Season three ended with Sherlock facing a formidable foe in the form of Charles Augustus Magnussen, while Moriarty’s face filled the nation’s television screens. What do you think is next for Sherlock and John?
