TV Buzz: Peek Beneath The Sheets of ‘Masters of Sex’ Season 2, Prepare for TNT’s ‘Legends’ and More

Before you head out for the weekend, it is time to take in the wide array of new TV trailers that have us buzzing this week. From a sneak peek of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s stirring performance in The Honorable Woman to a stunning season two trailer for Masters of Sex, the dramas steal the show. However, we also have a clip from Under the Dome, an intriguing teaser for TNT’s Legends and more.

‘Masters of Sex’ Season 2 Trailer Is Quite The Affair

Masters of Sex was the most provocative (and intelligent) series of 2013. Now Showtime is treating us to a second season of the entrancing period drama, and this time love is complicating the sex. Masters and Johnson will be embarking on an affair that mixes their research with their hearts and the results look explosive.

Masters of Sex season two premieres July 13th at 10PM ET/PT.

‘Under the Dome’ Season 2 Clip Is Magnetic

What could be worse than being stuck under a dome? Being stuck under a dome that has suddenly decided to become magnetized.

That is the situation Joe, Norrie and Angie find themselves in as they try to pull Angie’s mom out of a kitchen full of flying knives, nails and pans in a clip from the season two premiere of Under the Dome. This is totally all Big Jim’s fault for making the formerly benevolent aliens angry.

Under the Dome season two premieres Monday, June 30th at 10/9c on CBS.

AMC Releases ‘Hell on Wheels’ Season 4 Teaser

“I’m a killer and a railroad man; you can’t be one without choosing the other.”

Those ominous words usher in our first, brief look at Hell on Wheels season four. AMC’s western will have more violence, land fights and old west tropes for fans to be enthralled by this summer beginning Saturday, August 2nd. Are you ready to see where the railroad takes these characters next?

BBC Two Releases ‘The Honorable Woman’ Trailer Starring Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal absolutely stuns in the intense trailer for the eight-part series The Honorable Woman. Airing on BBC Two and SundanceTV, The Honorable Woman is a political thriller that promises twists, turns and lots of secrets. Watch the trailer and then share your thoughts on Gyllenhaal’s new series below.

The Honorable Woman premieres July 31st on SundanceTV.

‘Legends’ Goes Into the Darkroom in New Teaser

Okay, TNT, I will admit I am curious now.

The network has released an intricate, stylistic teaser for their upcoming thriller Legends starring Sean Bean that pushes the series beyond its Bourne Identity style premise into new territory. There are hints sprinkled throughout the trailer that suggest any number of sci-fi tropes from possible robotics, memory wiping, cloning– something is definitely up with Bean’s “programming.” Let us know what you think is going on in the comments.

Legends premieres Wednesday, August 13 at 9/8c on TNT.

‘The Almighty Johnsons’ Trailer Pits Gods Against Goddesses

Syfy is importing the New Zealand series The Almighty Johnsons stateside this summer, but the trailer is not exactly powerful. The premise is the Johnson brothers are gods, and apparently the goddesses are a threat to their power? Huh. That does not sound problematic at all, Syfy. It is a comedy though, so maybe the gender battles will play out more maturely than they are presented.

The Almighty Johnsons premieres Friday, July 11th at 10/9c on Syfy.

‘Project Greenlight’ Returns to HBO

It has been 13 years since Matt Damon and Ben Affleck first introduced the world to Project Greenlight, now the Hollywood heavy hitters are back for a second round on HBO. The goal is to find a young director and then guide them through the filmmaking process from start to finish. For the audience, the goal is to spazz out over Damon and Affleck getting the band back together again.

Syfy Celebrates Their 2014 Lineup

Syfy has slowly been rebranding itself as a destination for hard sci-fi and fantasy series this year and the channel celebrates its new direction with a trailer featuring its current and upcoming series. In addition to showcasing its stalwart drama Haven (the last of its monster of the week style series), Syfy also slips in brief previews of upcoming shows Ascension, 12 Monkeys and The Expanse. See if you can spot the newbies.
