On TV Tonight, Saturday, 6/21/14: Orphan Black, Almost Royal and More

TV Equals Midseason 2014 Saturday

Our Picks

Orphan Black – 9pm BBC America
Season two comes to end tonight with a clone club intervention on Sarah’s behalf. I really do not know why I am recommending anything else because we will all be watching this and immediately jumping on the internet to discuss it after it is over.

The Assets – 9pm ABC
Your eyes do not deceive you; just as The Assets appeared on our screens with little to no advertising in the winter, it has once again returned with zero fanfare. That means if you still vaguely recall what happened in the first two episodes of this spy miniseries you should be happy. Also, just a quick note to fans of NBC’s Crisis, the series final two episodes are also featured in tonight’s round of summer burn off theater.

Almost Royal – 10pm BBC America
Actually, I lied above. Almost Royal is worth keeping your TVs on for. I have seen the first episode and it left me full of gushy, stupid love. It is delightful and British, even though it is set in America, and it sends up everyone’s fascination with the Royal Family much better than something like I Wanna Marry Harry ever could. Just FYI, we get two back-to-back episodes.

Teenage Fairytale Dropouts – 10am The Hub

Bet on Your Baby – 8pm ABC
