Suits Season 4 Review “Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner” – Round Two

Suits Season 4 Episode 2 Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (9)

In this episode of Suits, called “Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner,” the battle continues as Harvey and Mike face off in their second round, while Louis and Jeff step into the ring for their first round.

After this episode, I think both Harvey and Mike have learned what kind of man Mike is. I’ve always liked the fact that Mike has a lot of heart and is a bit softer around the edges than Harvey. Not that he was a push-over, in fact that couldn’t be further from the truth. Mike never backed down from Harvey and it wasn’t until he realized that he was going to have to go back on his word and take away a man’s dreams that he began to falter.

It was then that Mike had to decide whether he was going to be comfortable doing some dirty business in order to live to fight another day. I wasn’t sure if he would actually do it, but though it was hard, I was proud of him for going to Walter and telling him they needed to take drastic action to stay in the game. Mike thanked Harvey for not giving him a way out, but I do wonder if Harvey was a tad disappointed that Mike didn’t take it. As much as he makes fun of him for it, I think Harvey likes the fact that Mike has (had) a softer side.

Or maybe I’m just projecting my feelings onto Harvey because that’s how I feel about Mike.

Louis and Jeff’s battle was also very fun to watch in this episode. The fact that Louis either doesn’t realize that some of the things he says are embarrassing or doesn’t care, is his most redeeming quality. When he was telling Jeff off, Louis had no qualms about admitting that he ate “crowing cocks” like Jeff every morning. Nor did he have any issue with crying on Jessica’s shoulder when she gave him the corner office. Even though it took Donna telling Jessica that the move needed to be done to save Louis’ dignity, I was very happy to see the boss lady go through with it.

I thought we might see Mike running back to Harvey with his tail between his legs after just a few episodes, but after this one, I’m thinking Harvey’s young Padawan is going to stick it out for a while. Which means that Harvey better keep his gloves laced up for more bouts in the ring.

My favorite bits:

Mike and Rachel making talk of boarders and flags sound very sexy.

Wanting all of the photos Louis used in his presentation.

“Unless you have photoshopped my head onto a dragon, do not interrupt me while I’m perfecting my pitch.” – It cracked me up that, by the end of the episode, fans had already started doing just that.

Poor Louis hearing Jessica saying awful things when she told him Jeff had joined the firm.

Donna stealing the flowers from Rachel’s desk. Can I be Donna when I grow up?

Rachel walking into Harvey’s office to tell him about Logan, only to find Logan standing there. Oops.

“I could be drinking a juice box and still kick your ass.” – I absolutely believe that.

“Jessica, what’s not purely professional about lunch? Unless it’s the sex that will be following lunch?”

Harvey pointing out that Mike wasn’t the best associate, even though it wasn’t relevant, just to get it on record.

The look Mike shot Harvey when he said Mike wasn’t the best client either. Ha!

Not just that Louis was writing in his diary, but the fact that he was doing it like a 14-year-old girl, lying down on his stomach on his couch.

Katrina telling Louis to stop writing in his “pussy diary” and fight back.

“Come on Jessica, you banged him, the least you can do is take him to lunch.”

“Whatever lets you sleep at night, white boy.” – Actual LOL.

Louis informing Jeff that he wouldn’t be giving him his jock, let alone his case.

A monkey in an Italian suit? Oh no he didn’t!

Wait. Louis eats what for breakfast, lunch and dinner? I can’t even. The best pat was, hands down, him licking his fingers. No really, I CAN’T EVEN.

Harvey presenting himself as a gift to Mike. Where can I sign up for this service?

“Harvey, I’m a grown man. I can sit across the table from somebody who had a history with Rachel.”
“Maybe, but you both have a brain and a dick and if you get in that room together, the brains aren’t going to be leading that conversation.”

Jeff’s face when Louis used the phrase, “T-Dog, you gotta be straight up with your homies.”

Todd arguing that he couldn’t go to prison because it was unsanitary. Sounds reasonable to me.

Mike and Logan’s meet cute in the bathroom.

Logan making fun of Mike’s tie. Wait. Is he taking lessons from Harvey now?

Logan and Mike’s conversation going from the deal to Rachel. Am I right or am I right?

“So we’re in agreement.”
“Yeah, you don’t completely suck.”

Louis’ smile when Donna said she was proud of him. Aw.

Donna totally figuring out that Jessica and Jeff were sleeping together. That’s because she knows all.

Jessica knowing that the only thing that would have Harvey in a dark mood was something to do with Mike. She knows all, too.

Louis hugging Jessica when she gave him the office. It was so genuine and so very Louis. I love that she let him cry it out.

“You’re a naive old man having a tantrum because he’s not getting his way!” – Ouch. That hurt both of them, I’m sure.

Donna’s Happy Corner Office gift to Louis. So sweet.
