‘Power’ Season 2 Announced by Starz

After just one episode has aired, Starz has renewed Power for a second season.

The drama about a nightclub owner/drug lord comes from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and premiered last Saturday to modest ratings. However, Power attracted both male and female viewers in near equal numbers while also attracting the youngest audience for a Starz series to date. The premium channel has ordered 10 episodes for season two with production set to begin in September.

Power is a project extremely close to my heart and working with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik and the Starz team has been the perfect fit for this. Viewers may be loving the start of season one now, but season two will blow them away,” said executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in a statement.

Power stars Omari Hardwick (Being Mary Jane), Lela Loren (Gang Related), Naturi Naughton (Mad Men) and Joseph Sikora (True Detective). Season one airs Saturdays at 9PM ET/PT on Starz.
