‘Garfunkel and Oates’ Series Premiere Date Announced by IFC

IFC is bringing the comedy/musical duo Garfunkel and Oates to television this summer beginning Thursday, August 7th at 10pm. The eight episode first season of the scripted series will follow Riki Lindhome (New Girl) and Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory, Raising Hope) as they attempt to become famous in Hollywood. Expect the duo to break into many off-color folk songs along the way.

Riki and Kate will face obstacles ranging from their different outlooks on life, disastrous dates and breaking into the comedy scene. Along the way they will sing about pregnant women, aging, same-sex puppet marriage and many other far flung topics. Season one guest stars include Steve Agee (New Girl), Abby Elliott (Saturday Night Live), Chris Hardwick (Talking Dead), Anthony Jeselnik (The Jeselnik Offensive) and Chris Parnell (Suburgatory, Archer) as well as special guests Sir Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3) and half the inspiration for the singing pair, John Oates from the duo, Daryl Hall & John Oates.
