Lisa Kudrow’s ‘The Comeback’ Returning To HBO

The Comeback

Lisa Kudrow’s The Comeback will return to HBO this fall in a six-episode limited run. The comedy first debuted back in 2005 with Kudrow in the lead role of Valerie Cherish, a one-time sitcom star who is so desperate to jump start her career, she allows a camera crew to document her every move. Malin Akerman (Trophy Wife) and Robert Bagnell (We Were Soldiers) also starred in the series that was created by Kudrow and Michael Patrick King (2 Broke Girls).

“The Comeback holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO,” notes Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “I can’t wait to find out what Valerie’s been up to since we last met.”

“I’m so excited to be working with Valerie Cherish again,” Michael Patrick King shared when discussing ‘The Comeback’s return. “It’s great to be able to continue her story and I’m thrilled to have THE COMEBACK come back to HBO, where it all started.”

With Lisa Kudrow adding, “It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around. I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character.”

When the series makes its return this fall, fans will see a falsely confident Valerie Cherish sure she has things in perspective. Production on the series is set to get underway in Los Angeles later this month. Will you be tuning in to see Kudrow back in the role of Valerie? Leave your comments below.
