Hart of Dixie Season 3 Review “A Better Man”

A Better Man

It’s been weeks since we’ve had the chance to spend this much time with Zoe and Wade together, but in this week’s Hart of Dixie, ‘A Better Man’, it was for all of the wrong reasons. Then again, everyone’s prediction of a Wade and Vivian breakup following Zoe’s own separation from Joel turning out to be correct, we’re well on our way to a happy ending for Zade come season finale time. That’s if he gets over this quite quickly, because right now they’re not really on speaking terms.

The other storylines were very much about treading water, with George still trying to get over an oblivious Lemon before he inevitably gives in and Bluebell’s original power couple rekindle things, Tom and Wanda starting a family, and Lavon and AnnaBeth’s dysfunctional breakup still causing trouble for everyone. Right now, I could see those two either getting back together or breaking further apart, with either eventuality better than what we’re currently seeing from week to week. It’s just so tedious, watching Lavon indulge that immature, jealous side of himself, and it’s starting to feel as if AnnaBeth can do so much better.

But Wade has drawn the short straw in the short-lived Vivian/Charles love triangle, using Zoe as a mediator in their troubles that have bubbling away since the end of last week’s episode. We might be inclined to say “poor Wade” in this situation, but then we remember all of the pain he put Zoe through last season, and maybe this is something he had to go through in order to really appreciate what he had before. We shippers know that the two of them are perfect for each other when they’re at their best and, now that they’ve both lost something equally important, maybe they can find solace in their history.

What did you think of the episode? How long before we see Zade again now that they’re both single? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
