Geek & Sundry Adds ‘Morganville: The Series’ to Line-Up of Web Series

Morganville Vampires

According to a report at The Hollywood Reporter, the folks over at Geek & Sundry, which was co-founded by fan favorite actress-writer-producer Felicia Day, have added a new web series to their growing list of online programs. The new web series – Morganville: The Series – is based on the “Morganville Vampires” novels by author Rachel Caine.

The series follows “college student Claire Danvers who discovers that her rural college town is home to the last remaining vampires” will include among its cast actress Amber Benson (of ‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’ fame) and actor Robert Picardo (of ‘China Beach and Star Trek: Voyager’ fame) as well as newcomers Lindsay Seidel, Ben Easter, Haileigh Todd and Jordan Tanner Farris.

The effort to get the Morganville Vampires storyline adapted to the small screen (so to speak) started back in July of 2013 when author Caine started a Kickstarter campaign to get the book series made into a web series. That effort raised $82,000! Caine had this to share about the project, “It’s an amazing process we’ve gone through to see Morganville come to life. The Kickstarter initiative was a way to really involve the readers in making Morganville a reality. We were extremely lucky to have had such great response and enthusiasm from the fans all through this process. I am thrilled that Geek & Sundry now is taking this series to the next level”.

‘Morganville: The Series’ will be produced by Day and Sheri Bryant (the co-founder of Geek & Sundry) and Pen Ultimate Productions and Loud Pictures with Blake Calhoun as director. The web series will premiere this summer on Geek & Sundry.
