‘See Dad Run’ Cancelled by Nick at Nite

Nick at Nite has cancelled its first original scripted series See Dad Run, ”Deadline has confirmed. Production on the family sitcom, starring ‘Charles in Charge’ alum Scott Baio, will come to a close this May after three seasons on the air. The remaining episodes of season 2, which consists of just 5 episodes, will finish its normal run on the network. The 13-episodes for season 3 will then run at some point later on this year with fans being treated to a one-hour series finale. The departure of ‘See Dad Run’ will leave Nick at Nite with just one original scripted series, ‘Instant Mom’.

‘See Dad Run’ comes from creators Tina Albanese and Patrick Labyorteaux. The series follows Scott Baio as an actor and family man by the name of David Hobbs who takes on a new role as a stay at home dad after appearing on television for years. Hobbs is left to tackle the majority of the household chores and his children while his soap-opera-star wife (Alanna Ubach) gets her career back on track. Albanese and Labyorteaux also serve as executive producers alongside Nat Bernstein and Mitchel Katlin.
