Ripper Street Uncancelled; Season 3 Announced by BBC America

Ripper Street is cancelled no more.

The popular British drama was axed by BBC One when the second season concluded across the pond, however, BBC America and Amazon announced today that a deal has been struck to bring Ripper Street back for a third season. The BBC and Amazon have partnered, giving Amazon the exclusive UK subscription streaming rights to the series. As part of the deal, season three will stream on Amazon Instant Prime UK before it airs on BBC One. Meanwhile, BBC America will remain a co-producer and air season three stateside.

Ripper Street follows the legendary H Division in the years following Jack the Ripper’s reign, and stars Matthew Macfadyen (Anna Karenina), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones), Adam Rothenberg (Elementary) and MyAnna Buring (Downton Abbey). Season three will commence filming in May 2014.

Season two currently airs Saturdays at 9PM on BBC America.
