‘Going On’ Season 2 Announced by HBO

Going On

HBO is sticking with the medical drama Getting On, Deadline has confirmed. The network has given the series from ‘Big Love’ creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer a second season order of six all new episodes. HBO appears to have faith in the series that was reportedly low on the ratings scale, but stirred up quite a buzz.

‘Getting On’ is a BBC adaptation that chronicles a string of nurses, doctors and administrators all trying to care for patients of a California geriatric extended care wing of a “down-at-the-heels” hospital. The series stars actors Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein, Niecy Nash and Mel Rodriguez. Metcalf is currently committed to the CBS comedy pilot ‘The McCarthys’ and is well known for her role as the sister of ‘Roseanne’. Borstein’s credits include ‘Family Guy’ while Nash is known for her work in ‘Clean House’. Fans may recognize Rodriguez from the indie ‘Little Miss Sunshine’. All four of the ladies bring the laughs to the dark comedy that shows the true side to caring for the elderly.

Olsen and Scheffer also serve as executive producers behind the HBO series alongside Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, Geoff Atkinson, Jo Brand, Joanna Scanlon and Vicki Pepperdine. Will you be tuning in to season 2 of ‘Getting On’?
