The CW Renews ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Reign,’ ‘Arrow’ and Two More Dramas

The CW put fans of Supernatural, Reign, Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals minds to rest today when all five series received early pick ups for the 2014-2015 television season. Supernatural will be returning for a 10th season, The Vampire Diaries for a sixth and Arrow for season three, while Reign and The Originals return for their sophomore seasons.

“This season we’ve had great success with our new hit series THE ORIGINALS paired with SUPERNATURAL, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is #2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with ARROW continuing to gain among young men, and REIGN growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. “I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”

All five shows have proven to be successes for The CW this season with Supernatural jumping 57% in digital viewing despite its advancing age, Arrow becoming the networks most watched series and The Originals being named the most social new series of the fall season by ListenFirst Media.
