‘American Idol’ Season 13 Details Revealed

American Idol Season 13

The show runners behind American Idol have revealed new details regarding the revamped singing competition’s 13th season that returned to airwaves on Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 in a special two-night premiere. This season fans will be treated to auditions for the next two weeks before the Fox series switches gears to introduce the new “Hollywood or Home Round.”

Contestants that receive their pass to move on will have to compete in the surprise round, set to air on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8 PM ET/PT. The new round will see the judges decide if the hopefuls are truly talented and committed to becoming the next ‘American Idol’ superstar. The singers must hit the stage one more time to prove themselves to the judges before they make it forward in the competition. Those that fail to impress the judge’s panel will be sent home before the real competition begins.

In the Feb. 13 episode the Top semi-finalists will be revealed. Those contestants that make the cut will then move on to Rush Week, an Idol three-night event that will kick off on Feb. 18. On Feb. 20 the Top 13 finalists will be revealed in what will mark season 13’s first results show that will held live from Los Angeles. The first finalist to be eliminated by America’s vote will air on Feb. 27.
