Guess Who’s Coming to ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Stan Lee

Comic book legend himself Stan Lee will be guest-starring in an upcoming episode of the ABC superhero drama Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that will likely air on February 4.

Back in November series executive producer Joss Whedon (the man behind ‘Buffy’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Firefly’ – just to name a few) teased at TVGuide.com that the “godfather of comic book heroes” would be making a cameo in the series and now the folks over at TV Guide – via a report at The Hollywood Reporter – can confirm the guest appearance WILL happen.

The good news ends there, though, as details on what role Mr. Lee (who also serves as an executive producer on the series) will play in the series are not “currently available”. As anyone who has seen a Marvel movie in the past knows, Mr. Lee has had small speaking parts in many of that universe’s films, including ‘The Avengers’, ‘Thor’, the ‘Iron Man’ trilogy’ and the first two ‘Fantastic Four’ films. Mr. Lee also appeared in episodes of ‘Chuck’, ‘Nikita’, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Eureka’.

Mr. Lee, in collaboration with other artists, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, has co-created such legendary characters as Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor and X-Men (among countless others).

A new episode of the debut season of ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ will air on ABC tonight, January 7, at 8/7c, its first new episode after the show’s holiday break.
