Disney Junior Announces New Seasons of ‘Sofia the First,’ ‘Doc McStuffins’ and ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’

In news that should make preschoolers (and their parents) everywhere rejoice, Disney Junior has renewed Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins for third seasons, and Jake and the Never Land Pirates for a fourth season.

“‘Sofia the First,’ ‘Doc McStuffins’ and ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ do what Disney does best — tell great stories with humor and heart,” said Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide in a statement. “We’ve seen these series connect with our audience around the world and across platforms in meaningful ways, and we have many more stories to tell. We look forward to developing new narratives that will put our charismatic princess Sofia, aspiring doctor Doc, and inspiring hero Jake into exciting new situations and locales.”

Sofia the First tells the story of Disney’s first little girl princess while Doc McStuffins follows the adventures of a six-year-old girl who runs a stuffed animal clinic. Jake and the Never Land Pirates is a fresh take on the adventures in Never Land from the perspective of a crew of child pirates. All three series air daily on Disney Junior.
