On TV Tonight, Tuesday, 12/24/13: A Christmas Story Marathon, It’s A Wonderful Life and More

TV Equals Schedules Fall 2013 Tuesday

Our Picks

A Christmas Story – 8pm TBS
There is absolutely no new programming on Christmas Eve (give or take a random reality show), but if you need some background noise for your last-minute Christmas wrapping give into TBS’ annual ode to A Christmas Story. No one knows why they decided to air the oddball Christmas comedy for 24 hours straight every year, but now it is as much a part of Christmas as egg nog, that virtual TV log and getting gift wrapped underwear from your grandma.

A Christmas Carol – 8pm Ovation
Alternatively, you could watch the 1999 one-man stage version of “A Christmas Carol” starring Patrick Stewart. Leave it to Ovation to class up the joint.

It’s A Wonderful Life – 8pm NBC
In another holiday tradition (and my personal favorite tradition), NBC is airing the 1946 holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life. It is a pain to watch a nearly three hour movie with commercial breaks; however, for sentimental reasons, I tune in every year– NBC was the first place I encountered the movie and I like to think others feel a similar attachment to the network’s annual airing.
