‘Vikings’ Season 2 Premiere Date Announced

The pillaging continues on History when season two of Vikings kicks off on Thursday, February 27th at 10PM ET/PT.

Season two of the compelling period drama will find Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) struggling with his new found power. As his place in the clan grows, so does the animosity between Ragnar and his brother. Furthermore, the warrior will be dealing with a crisis of faith and a continued desire to set sail west to explore unknown territories. There will be trouble at home as well when Ragnar’s indiscretions cause a rift between himself and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and their son.

In addition to Fimmel and Winnick, the returning cast includes Clive Standen as Rollo, Ragnar’s brother; George Blagden as Athelstan, a Monk; Jessalyn Gilsig as Siggy, wife of the late Earl Haraldson; Donal Logue as King Horrik; Gustaf Skarsgard, a ship builder; and Alyssa Sutherland as Princess Aslaug, Ragnar’s new love interest. New cast members include Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games) as Bjorn, the intelligent and bold warrior son of Ragnar Lothbrok, and Linus Roache (Law & Order) as Ecbert, King of Wessex, a man of strength, knowledge and undisguised ambition.

Once again, Vikings‘ 10-episode second season begins Thursday, February 27th at 10PM ET/PT on History.
