‘Survivor’ Season 29 and 30 Ordered by CBS

CBS has given the green light to another round of Survivor, picking up the competition series for an additional two seasons. The pick-up will bring the long running show into its 30th season on the network.

Nina Tassler, the president of CBS Entertainment, announced the news. “We are thrilled to announce this landmark renewal for Survivor, a groundbreaking show that changed the TV landscape and helped usher in a new era of ratings dominance for the Network. Survivor continues to set the bar for outstanding production values, compelling storytelling while delivering fresh new adventures every season. The show’s enduring success is a testament to the creativity and passion of Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst, and an amazing production team. We’re proud to continue this incredible journey together.”

‘Survivor’s Jeff Probst will also continue on with his role as host and executive producer of the series. “Survivor has been blessed with incredibly loyal fans. We make this show for them and I am thrilled that we get to do it again.”

‘Survivor’ just wrapped its 27th edition, ‘Blood vs. Water’. The season finale aired on CBS on Sunday night in a two-hour installment that featured a one-hour live reunion show. The 29th and 30th editions of ‘Survivor’ will take place in 2014 and 2015.
