‘Call the Midwife’ Christmas Special Trailer Teases Bombs, Babies and a Wedding

Nonnatus House is going to be going busier than ever this Christmas. In the new trailer for the upcoming holiday special, the nuns and midwives alike are faced with challenges familiar (lots of babies are born, as Chummy puts it, “I feel rather like Mary”) and terrifyingly new, namely finding an unexploded bomb in the neighborhood.

The bomb drives the nuns and many of the neighbors from their homes before Christmas, and could delay the wedding of Dr. Turner and Shelagh. Add in a polio outbreak, a Royal visitor to the East End and the day-to-day personal challenges the midwives face and you have the perfect recipe for a chaotic Christmas. Watch the trailer below. Are you looking forward to another holiday visit to Nonnatus House?

The feature-length Call the Midwife Christmas Special airs Christmas Day on BBC One, and on Sunday, December 29th at 7:30PM on PBS.
