First Look Teaser: AMC’s ‘Turn’ Introduces America’s First Spy Ring

AMC has taken us from a modern day meth lab to ’60s-era New York and the wild terrain of the unsettled American west. In 2014, the network will present us with a new frontier in Turn, a series focusing on The American Revolutionary War and the country’s first spy ring. Think Homeland with better outfits and less crazy.

The first teaser features a few snippets of battle scenes and some old school waterboarding for Abe Woodhull (Jamie Bell). Abe and a group of his childhood friends form The Culper Ring, a group stationed in the British-controlled Long Island who become America’s very first spy ring, will serve as the focus for Turn. The series is based on the nonfiction book “Washington’s Spies” by Alexander Rose.

In addition to Bell, Turn also stars Seth Numrich (The Good Wife), Daniel Henshall (The Snowtown Murders), Heather Lind (Boardwalk Empire), Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Burn Gorman (Torchwood), Angus MacFadyen (Braveheart), JJ Field (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Samuel Roukin (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1). Watch the trailer below. Are you excited to see a Revolutionary War set series?

Turn premieres in Spring 2014 on AMC.
