Witches of East End Season 1 Review “Potentia Noctis”

Witches of East End Season 1 Episode 6 Potentia Noctis 12

And the plot thickens! This week’s Witches of East End fell back on the inevitable flashback episode, with Ingrid eating magical brownie in order to remember where and who she was in a family photo from 1906. There, we see that Ingrid wasn’t always the sensible, timid sibling and discover first hand why Wendy and Joanna have been estranged for all of these years. It terms out some bad judgment led to Ingrid’s death, and Joanna holds Wendy entirely responsible. It’s a good job she’s mellowed over the years.

The big moment of the night, however, was the discovery that Dash and Killian’s mother, Penelope, knows more than she’s saying, and it’s possible she’s been playing the long game in terms of revenge for past misdeeds. Joanna killed her father and Penelope has somehow managed to survive the intervening years since 1906. What’s her plan for Freya and is it a coincidence that both of her sons are in love with her enemy’s daughter? Do they know about it? Somehow I doubt that Killian has any idea, but maybe Dash is the wolf in sheep’s clothing?

That said, he’s probably going to die before we get a chance to find out, since he was touching the spongy root thingy that kills anyone who touches it without a care in the world. You tried, Freya, but it looks as if you’re either going to tell your fiancé not to go around touching things he can’t identify or spill the beans on your witchy status. The investment Penelope has in the big, splashy wedding suggests to me that whatever she has planned will go down at said celebration – maybe in the season finale? I can’t wait!
