‘The Originals,’ ‘Reign,’ and ‘The Tomorrow People’ Ordered for Full Seasons by The CW

The CW is sticking with their fall freshman class of shows.

The network announced they have given The Originals, Reign and The Tomorrow People full 22-episode orders. While none of the series have proven to be breakout hits, they’re all measuring up to The CW’s ratings standards and they fit the brand the network has been cultivating nicely.

“In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule. Our on-air ratings are up year to year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially,” said Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW. “We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season. With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”

The Originals is a New Orleans based The Vampire Diaries‘ spin-off that revolves around original vampire Klaus and his family. Meanwhile, Reign is a reimagining of Mary Queen of Scots rise and The Tomorrow People is a remake of the classic British sci-fi series of the same name.

Still waiting in the wings for midseason are two more supernatural/sci-fi flavored offerings, The 100 and Star-Crossed. There’s no word yet on where they’ll fit into The CW’s schedule.
