‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ Kicks Off Filming In Austin

The El Rey Network and FactoryMade Ventures’s from Dusk Till Dawn: The Series has begun filming in Austin, Texas with ‘Desperado’s Robert Rodriguez set to direct the first two episodes. ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ follows two bank robbers, brothers Seth Gecko (D.J. Cotrona) and Richard “Richie” Gecko (Zane Holtz), who try to allude capture after a bank heist leaves several dead. The supernatural crime drama also stars ‘Miami Vice’ alum Don Johnson as Earl McGraw, a Texas Ranger out to capture the duo who attempt to hide out, but find themselves among vampires. The series will also expand upon the original storyline with plans to introduce new characters, back stories and the mythology behind the vampires.

“If the movie’s the short story, the series is the novel,” Rodriguez said. “We have assembled an amazing cast and crew, and viewers can expect to be part of a wild ride when the series premieres on El Rey Network next spring.”

‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ is an adaptation of the cult classic 1996 film of the same name from Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
