Actress Emily Wickersham Made Series Regular on ‘NCIS’

Emily Wickersham the sopranos

It will be another two weeks before actress Emily Wickersham makes her debut on the number 1 drama on TV – NCIS – as the potential successor to the one and only Ziva David (outgoing series regular Cote de Pablo), but news has come down that the actress has been made a series regular.

Back in mid-September we reported here that ‘The Sopranos’ alum was in line to potentially fill the rather large hole in the cast left by de Pablo’s departure and that her casting contained a series regular option, which has obviously been put into play.

Wickersham will play NSA Analyst Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop, a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism who specializes in international threat assessment and global preparation. She will make her debut appearance in the November 19 episode in which it is discovered the Secretary of the Navy was bugged during a confidential briefing, a security breach Bishop described in exact detail two years ago in a threat analysis report. Working side-by-side with Gibbs and the team, Bishop cross-examines the case file to help determine who is behind the crime.

Executive producer Gary Glasberg had this to say about the promotion, “Emily’s Ellie Bishop is proving to perfectly compliment the NCIS team. Her energy and enthusiasm is contagious. Great things are planned for Bishop and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on board”.

The next new episode of the 11th season of ‘NCIS’ will air on CBS tomorrow night, November 5, at 8/7c
