‘Homeland’ Season 4 and ‘Masters of Sex’ Season 2 Announced by Showtime

Showtime announced today that Homeland and Masters of Sex have been renewed for a fourth and second season, respectively.

“HOMELAND continues to prove its strength for SHOWTIME, and is one of television’s most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons,” said David Nevins, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. in a statement. “The critical and audience reaction to MASTERS OF SEX since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying. It’s a privilege to get to work with such talented and creative people as Alex Gansa and Michelle Ashford, as well as their tremendous casts. They have each created truly original shows, with distinctive voices that are among the most admired series on television.”

Many critics have fallen out of love with Homeland in season three, but the series continues to be Showtime’s highest rated series, and has grown in viewers since season two. Meanwhile, Masters of Sex has proven to be a hit right out of the gate garnering 5.4 million viewers a week. The series chronicles the sexual revolution as sparked by researchers William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan).

Homeland season three and Masters of Sex season one are currently airing Sundays on Showtime beginning at 9PM.
