‘Girls’ Season 3, ‘True Detective’ and ‘Looking’ Premiere Dates Announced by HBO

HBO is gearing up for their winter season with the official announcement of the season three premiere date of Girls, and the series premiere dates for new series’ Looking and True Detective.

True Detective, starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as two Louisiana detectives whose lives intertwine over 17 years as they search for a killer from 1995 until the case is reopened in 2012, will kick things off Sunday, January 12 at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The premiere will be immediately followed by back-to-back episodes of Girls, as we rejoin Hannah and her friends for a third season of angsting in New York City.

Looking, a comedy about three friends in San Franscisco exploring “the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men,” will debut the following Sunday, January 19th at 10:30 p.m., acting as a companion piece for Girls. The series stars Jonathan Groff (Glee), Frankie J. Alvarez (Smash) and Murray Bartlett (Guiding Light). Special guest stars include Russell Tovey (Being Human) and Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap).
