‘Misfits’ Fifth Season Premiere Date Announced by E4

Misfits, the hit British series about a band of super-power endowed community service workers is coming back for a fifth and final eight-episode season, E4 has announced. Although the original cast members have all moved on to other projects, Rudy (Joseph Gilgun), Jess (Karla Crome), Finn (Nathan McMullen), Alex (Matt Stokoe) and Abby (Natasha O’Keeffe) will put on their jumpsuits for one last round of creator Howard Overman’s sci-fi series.

Misfits was a bold and confident commission that backed original ideas and new talent, quickly becoming a hit with its audience on E4 and around the world,” said Murray Ferguson, Chief Executive of Clerkenwell Films in a statement. “It’s been great to produce a show that has been able to innovate on screen and online, and that broke new ground premiering with huge success on Hulu in America. Misfits has been an exciting and rewarding ride for us all and we now look forward to ending the show with a bang!”

Season five will begin on the one year anniversary of the storm and focus on a support group for those having trouble living with their super abilities. Among those who join the group are people with the abilities to knit visions of the future, to shag unwanted powers out of other people and to transform into a turtle. Among the regular Misfits gang, Dark Rudy is the first to sign up and encounter the gang’s possible new future.

Misfits season five will premiere on E4 Wednesday, October 23rd at 10pm. There is no word yet on when the final season will premiere in America.
