‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Receives Full Season Order from ABC

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have more cases on their hands.

According to TV Line, ABC has picked up S.H.I.E.L.D. for a full 22-episode season of undercover adventures. The series had the highest network premiere in four years when it bowed with 12.1 million viewers. Three episodes in and S.H.I.E.L.D. is holding steady as the number one new show of the 2013-2014 season amongst the 18-49 demo.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is an extension of the Marvel movieverse and an off-shoot of Joss Whedon’s hit blockbuster The Avengers. Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson heads up a group of misfit agents who work to keep the world safe sans superpowers. Whedon serves as an executive producer on the series, along with his brother and sister-in-law Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.
