Tonight is a really exciting night because not only is The CW’s Arrow returning for its second season, the network is also premiering a new series, The Tomorrow People, which is a perfect pairing. Let’s talk about them.

Arrow Season 2

Arrow City of Heroes

When Arrow returns, quite a few things have changed and some time has passed since the events of last season’s finale, but one thing’s for sure, the series returns really strong and is bound to please its fans. So I thought I would let you know about a few things that you can expect this new season:

– A great Felicity and Diggle moment in opening

– The Flashbacks are back! We’ll find out more about Oliver’s time on the island with Slade and Shado.

– Felicity describes Summer Glau’s character, Isabel Rochev, as “She looks angry in any photo.” It was announced that Rochev is the Vice President of Stellmoor International, a company looking to takeover Queen Consolidated.

– Roy’s alive (duh!) and continues on his quest to save the Glades (or what remains of it).

– Laurel has a new job and new purpose this season… let’s just say that her feelings for the Hood have changed.

– Speaking of The Hood, this season the word has been reclaimed by a new group of hardcore vigilantes who don’t have the restraint Oliver had.

– Expect some awesome Oliver and Felicity moments. Come on, these two are meant to be!!

– Felicity made improvements to their headquarters this season. She rocks!

– Best quote from episode 2 by Diggle: “Well it could be worse. My secret identity is his black driver.”

– Expect a crazy cliffhanger at the end of episode 2.

– And finally, we’ll get more visuals of Oliver working out!

The Tomorrow People

The Tomorrow People Pilot

Following the second season premiere of Arrow is the series premiere of The Tomorrow People starring Robbie Amell (Stephen Amell’s cousin). The series follows a new generation of humans born with paranormal abilities called The Tomorrow People, who are hunted down by a paramilitary group of scientists known as Ultra. We meet Stephen Jameson (Amell) as he comes to grip with his new powers and meets John (Luke Mitchell), Cara (Peyton List) and Russel (Aaron Yoo), all part of The Tomorrow People, who offer him answers about not only his new powers but possibly the truth about his father’s mysterious disappearance. However, Stephen is also being tempted by the head of Ultra, Dr. Jedikiah Price (Mark Pellegrino), who offers him the chance at a normal life.

Having only seen the first episode, it’s hard to know exactly how the series will evolve in its first season, however it’s certainly off to a great start. The pilot is very compelling and lays a great foundation for what’s to come next. And seeing the powers of The Tomorrow People is, for lack of a better word, very cool!

Stephen is also a character that you can root for right off the bat and the series offers enough mystery to make you want to tune in again for the next episode.

If you’re a fan of Arrow, then chances are that you’ll really enjoy The Tomorrow People and if you don’t watch Arrow, I still encourage you to watch The Tomorrow People… and actually you might as well tune in to that second season premiere for Arrow, because it’s too good not to watch.

Arrow returns for its second season tonight, October 9th at 8pm, followed by the series premiere of The Tomorrow People at 9pm on The CW.
