The CW’s ‘Reign’ Trailers Tease “Take Care or You Will Bleed”

“Love is irrelevant for people like us.”

If that line doesn’t hook you, then clearly you haven’t consumed copious amounts of costume dramas. In two sleek new trailers featuring modern jams, The CW puts Reign‘s best 16th Century footwear clad foot forward with intrigue, assassination attempts, hints of the supernatural and the promise of watching a young woman grow into a queen. Also, Anne of Green Gables (Megan Follows) is there being far more menacing than she has any right to be. Oh, and the costumes! They don’t exactly look period accurate, but they’re gorgeous enough to earn our forgiveness. Check out both trailers below.

Reign premieres Thursday, October 17th at 9/8c on The CW.
