‘Sleepy Hollow’ Season 2 Announced by Fox

The Headless Horseman will ride again next fall.

Fox announced today that Sleepy Hollow has been picked up for a second 13-episode season, making it the first Fall series to earn a renewal. With time-shifting, Sleepy Hollow has become the best premiere for Fox since 24 in 2001. Additionally, the series is holding onto its audience with a 97% retention rate of the prior week’s Adults 18-49. Not bad for a show about Ichabod Crane, huh?

“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking – it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season Two.”

The second season pick-up means Fox will not be ordering the back nine episodes for season one; instead the network will stick to the cable-like 13-episode plan.

The next episode of Sleepy Hollow is set to air Monday, October 7th at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
