‘Camp’ Cancelled by NBC

Camp Episode 10 Last Days of Summer (1)

The NBC network has cut loose its summer series Camp starring actress Rachel Griffiths of ‘Brothers & Sisters’ fame. As reported by Deadline, ‘Camp’ scored low ratings among viewers which lead to the network’s decision to drop the series.

The series followed Griffiths as the recently divorced camp director Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Granger who heads up the Little Otter Family Camp. The show focused in on the lives of the counselors and campers all living together, as well as their rivals across the lake. ‘Camp’ also starred Tom Green (Dance Academy), Dena Kaplan (In Her Skin), Tim Pocock (Battle Ground) and Charles Grounds (Why Ryan Is On Detention). Kate Woods directed the show alongside creators Liz Heldens and Peter Elkoff. Fans can see Griffith up next in the 2014 film ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ in the role of Aunt Ellie.

The freshman drama – which first aired on July 10 on NBC – was produced by Universal Studios and Berman-Braun. While it was bad news for ‘Camp’, Universal’s hit show ‘Under the Dome’ and ‘Mistresses’ were both renewed for a second season.
