‘Law & Order: UK’ Season 8 Announced by ITV

Law & Order UK

The successful and popular returning crime drama, Law & Order: UK, has been recommissioned by ITV (the UK television network) with filming of the new 8-part series set to start in London next month.

Highlights of the new series include the death of a psychiatrist who specializes in violent juveniles and a hotel-room killing without a body. DS Ronnie Brooks, played by Bradley Walsh, will meet his match in a drug dealer who repeatedly beats the justice system and in one particular episode, he will be investigating other senior police officers.

Dependable and experienced Detective Sergeant Ronnie Brooks (Walsh) will be joined in the 8th series (or season as we know it) by new colleague DS Joe Hawkins (newcomer Ben Bailey Smith (‘Midsomer Murders’). Previous cast members Dominic Rowan, Georgia Taylor and Paterson Joseph are returning in the new episodes and Peter Davison will also return.

The ‘Law and Order’ franchise was created by acclaimed showrunner Dick Wolf and this UK series is based on the US franchise. It has been a favorite with the ITV audience
since it first aired in 2009.

‘Law & Order: UK’ will air on ITV sometime next year, but there are no details on when those episodes will air here in the States, though.
