‘The Bridge’ Season 2 Announced by FX

The drama on both sides of The Bridge will continue next summer on FX.

The network announced today that they have picked up the series for a second season of thirteen episodes set to premiere in the summer of 2014. The Bridge spans the two diverse cultures of El Paso and Juarez through the lens of unlikely partners American Detective Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) and Mexican Detective Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir).

“We’ve been blown away by the compelling performances of Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger and the writing of Meredith Stiehm, Elwood Reid and their team, and are thrilled to be able to continue this journey for another season,” said Eric Schrier, President of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Rich Ross, Carolyn Bernstein and everyone at Shine America.”

The Bridge season one is set to wrap up it’s first season Wednesday, October 1st at 10PM ET/PT on FX. The penultimate episode, “All About Eva,” will air this Wednesday, September 25th at 10PM.
