TNT Greenlights ‘Murder in the First’ Starring Taye Diggs September 19, 2013 News, TNT TNT has greenlit Steven Bochco’s (NYPD Blue) Murder in the First starring Taye Diggs (Private Practice) and Kathleen Robertson (Boss) for a 10-episode first season. The series will take place in San Francisco and follow homicide detectives Terry English (Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Robertson) as they spend one season unraveling the murder of an apparent drug addict. The case will quickly become complicated when it leads back to a Silicon Valley superstar, Erich Blunt (The Harry Potter series’ Tom Felton). “Murder in the First sets up an engrossing, season-long mystery that’s certain to appeal to TNT fans,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in a statement. “We are thrilled to be working with Steven Bochco once again. We look forward to seeing this fascinating mystery unspool in the hands of Steven, Eric Lodal and the incredible cast and crew of Murder in the First.” The series will also star Mimi Kirkland (Safe Haven), Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon a Time), Ian Anthony Dale (Hawaii Five-0), Bess Rous (What Just Happened) and Steven Weber (Dallas, Wings). Murder in the First joins TNT’s growing roster of dramas for the 2014 season, which also includes The Last Ship, starring Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), and Legends, starring Game of Thrones‘ Sean Bean. The series is scheduled to bow in the summer.
