‘Magic City’ Cancelled by Starz

It’s check out time at the Miramar Playa Hotel.

Starz has cancelled Magic City after two seasons, Deadline reports. From creator Mitch Glazer, Magic City starred Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Ike Evans a hotel magnate in ’50s era Miami. The season two finale, set to air this Friday, August 9th, will now serve as the series finale.

Starz initially ordered two seasons of Magic City before the series’ first season premiere. Since then Magic City has failed to grow in the ratings, or garner the critical attention the premium channel would like. The channel appears to be moving in a new direction with fantasy/genre skewing fair like Da Vinci’s Demons, Outlander, Black Sails and the upcoming historical drama The White Queen.

Are you sad to say goodbye to Magic City?

Magic City‘s series finale will air Friday, August 9th at 9/8c on Starz.
