Two New Faces to Join ‘Nashville’ for Second Season

Actor Oliver Hudson, best known for his role on the long-running comedy ‘Rules of Engagement’ (and the facts that he is Goldie Hawn’s son and brother to actress Kate Hudson), will have a major recurring role on the ABC drama Nashville when it returns for its sophomore season this fall.

According to Deadline, he will play Jeff, a charming, audacious, take-no-prisoners businessman who promises to shake things up in Nashville.

Among Hudson’s other TV credits are the short-lived WB series ‘My Guide To Becoming A Rock Star’ (which launched his career), the short-lived CW series ‘The Mountain’, the made-for-TV movies ‘10.5: Apocalypse’ and ‘Carolina Moon’ as well as the box office films ‘Black Christmas’ and ‘Grown Ups 2’.

The other new face to join ‘Nashville’ this fall will be actress Aubrey Peeples, whose career has taken off thanks to her appearance in the much-hyped Syfy made-for-TV movie ‘Sharknado’.

Peeples will recur as Layla, a “runner-up in a big reality singing competition who just burst onto the music scene and seems to be as sweet and gracious as they come”. But fans should remember that the word “seems” could be a little misleading.

While ‘Sharknado’ has virtually launched Peeples’ career, she has made guest appearances in episodes of TV shows like ‘Drop Dead Diva’, ‘Burn Notice’, ‘Necessary Roughness’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as well as a guest role in the upcoming mid-season CW series ‘Star-Crossed’.

‘Nashville’ will be back for its second season on ABC starting on September 25 at 10/9c.
