‘Necessary Roughness’ Alum Marc Blucas to Appear on ‘Blue Bloods’

Necessary Roughness - Season 2

Actor Marc Blucas may be best known for his role of Riley on the long-running cult classic series ‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’, but he has racked up some other very interesting roles in recent years, including his series regular spot on ‘Necessary Roughness’ – until this new season of course – as well as roles in the box office films ‘Knight and Day’ and ‘Red State’.

Now, he will be showing up in an episode of the popular CBS cop drama Blue Bloods where he will play Russell, a movie star who joins Danny (series regular Donnie Wahlberg) for a ride along to research a new role. According to the folks over at The Huffington Post his character is being described as “extremely charismatic, talented, good-humored, accessible and friendly”.

But (you knew there was going to be a but, right?), the ride along doesn’t go well as Russell’s secret life “gets him in trouble and he makes a deal: In exchange for Danny’s help and silence, Russell is prepared to help him find a perpetrator”.

Blucas will be next be seen in the mid-season ABC series ‘Killer Women’ alongside actress Tricia Helfer (‘Battlestar Galactica’) and the upcoming film ‘One Heart’ that will also star ‘Rectify’ and ‘Mad Men’ beauty Abigail Spencer.

‘Blue Bloods’ will return for its fourth season on CBS starting on Friday, September 27 at 10/9c, but no official airdate for Blucas’s episode has been announced yet.
